Episcia ’ Fire-burned Island’. 2003, IR03843, Liu Chia Cheng, China. (‘Silver Skies’ x ‘Lemon Tree’). Cross made Aug. 3, 2001, planted Nov. 21, 2001 and first flowered Jan. 27, 2003. Fertile but reproducible only vegetatively. Compact, fast growing. Leaves bullate, dark brown with silvery green in center, (strong light may make the green darker), 10.5 cm long x 2.5 cm wide, with a 4-4.5 cm long petiole., ovate with crenate margin, acute tip and cuneate base. Calyx split, light brown, 1 cm long. Pedicel 4-5 cm long with 5 flowers per leaf axil. Corolla salverform, 2.5 cm long, 2.5 cm wide, red with some yellow spotting around the center.
