Primulina ‘Amethyst Brooch’

Primulina ‘Amethyst Brooch’, 2018, IR181411, hybridized by Shu Li, Yi-Gang Wei, Fang Wen; Guangxi, China. (P. mabaensis x P. eburnea). Cross made 11.04.2014, seeds planted 02.16.2015, first flowered 05.25.2017. Sterile. Reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette. Leaves green, 5-16 cm long, 3-8 cm wide with 4-8 cm petiole, elliptic with cuneate base, serrate margin and acute tip, hairy. Calyx spit, green, 1-1.1 cm long. Pedicel 1-1.3 cm long with 3-6 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3-4 cm long x 3.5 cm wide, pale purple. This variety is shade-tolerant, does its best in a bright scattered light, prefers moist well drained substrate, can’t take temperature below freezing.
