Primulina ‘Purple Moon’

Primulina ‘Purple Moon’, 2013, IR131233, Wen Fang and Wei Yi- Gang China. (P. beiliuensis × P. villosissima.) Cross made Apr. 22, 2010, planted Jul. 13, 2010 and first flowered Apr.19, 2012. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Rosette. Leaves green to dark green, 7-12 cm long × 5.5-8.5 cm wide, 6-9 cm petiole, hairy, ovate with entire margin, cuneate base and acute tip. Calyx split, green, 1-1.2 cm. Pedicel 1-1.5 cm. 4-6 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3.5-5 cm long × 3 cm wide, pale purple to purple with two yellow stripes. Shade tolerant, prefers bright scattered light, moist well drained substrate. Doesn’t survive temperature below freezing.
