Primulina ‘Garden Valley’

Primulina ‘Garden Valley’, 2021, IR211597, hybridized by Haixia Yan, Dayan Tao, Jinye Zhou, Shikai Guan, Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, China. (P. gueilinensis x P. xiziae). Cross made 04.17.2019, seeds planted 05.07.2019, first flowering 03.25.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green with white veins, 10.3-12.0 cm long, 7.6-9.7 cm wide, 2.9-5.6 cm petiole, elliptic to ovate, with cuneate base, acute tip, serrate margin, hairy. Calyx split, light brown, 0.9-1.4 cm. Length of the pedicel 1.3-2.0 cm, 9-22 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 4.1-4.5 cm long x 1.1-1.3 cm wide, purple. It can withstand serious droughts and direct sunlight.
