Primulina ‘GCCC’s Happy Summerday’

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Happy Summerday’, 2021, IR211693, hybridized by Fang Wen, Yi-Gang Wei; Guangxi Institute of Botany; Guilin, China. (P. hochiensis x P. heterocyma). Cross made 06.24.2018, seeds planted 09.20.2018, first flowering 08.07.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem 1-4 cm. Leaves green with indistinct greenish-white veins, 5-6 cm long, ca. 4.5 cm wide, 5-8 cm petiole, ovate with cuneate base, acute tip, serrate margin, hairy. Calyx split, green, ca. 8 mm. Length of the pedicel 1-2.5 cm, 8-14 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 2.5 cm long, ca. 1.5 cm wide, pinkish purple with two dark yellow stripes at throat. Very good high-temperature resistance (≥35℃). Prefers bright scattered natural light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate.
