Primulina ‘Purple Throat’, 2022, IR221717, hybridized by Wendi Yu, Yixun Yu, Juanxu Liu, Guiyun Jiang; South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. (P. fimbrisepala x . pungentisepala). Cross made 03.16.2020, seeds planted 05.20.2020, first flowering 03.31.2021. Reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves dark green with white patches in the middle, 10.0-13.5 cm long, 6.8-9.8 cm wide, 3.2-5.4 cm petiole, ovate with cuneate base, acute tip, serrate margin, hairy. Calyx split, green, 11-13 mm. Length of the pedicel 2.8-3.5 cm, 8-12 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 4.9-5.2 cm long, 1.3-1.4 cm wide, purple.This hybrid grows best in shady conditions, can’t tolerate direct sunlight, temperature range is 0-35℃.
