Sinningia ‘Bud’s Raspberry Beret’

Sinningia ‘Bud’s Raspberry Beret’, 2017, IR171358, hybridized by Brandon W. Erikson, NE.  (S. ‘Bud’s Elemental’ x S.conspicua). Cross made 12.01.2015, planted 12.29.2015, and first flowered 06.25.2016.  Pod fertile, reproducible only vegetatively. Erect growth habit, stem length 5-7cm. Leaves light green, 3-4 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, with 1.5-2cm petiole, orbicular with cordate base, crenate margin and rounded tip, bullate, hairy. Calyx split, green, 0.5cm long. Pedicel 4cm with 1-3 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform 3.5-4cm long x 1.5-2cm wide, red-orange with delineated yellow throat, spots. Upright with radial symmetry.  Unique color combination for bloom. Floral presentation is forward.  Lightly scented, lemon, more apparent in the evening.
