Sinningia ‘Cajun Sunset’

Sinningia ‘Cajun Sunset’, 2013, IR131213, Sharon Crochet, LA.  (S. ‘Scarlet Sunset’ x S. ‘Super Orange’). Cross made May 9, 2012, planted June 6, 2012 and first flowered Nov. 11, 2012. Fertile but reproducible only vegetatively. Tuberous, compact rosette. Leaves dark green, light green reverse, 2.75 in. long x 2.25 in. wide with 0.75-1 in. petiole, ovate with crenate margin, acute tip and cordate base.  Calyx 0.125 in. long, reddish green, leafy, pedicel 2. in. tall with 2-3 flowers. Corolla salverform, 2 in. long x 1.5 in. wide, deep red with darker red streak from middle of the tube to the lip, occasional light red spotting on lower side lobes and lip.
