Smithiantha ‘Pat’s Pet Cougar’, 2006, IR06940, Gary Dunlap, MO. (S. cinnabarina x S. canarina). Cross made Dec. 20, 2000, planted Mar. 28, 2001 and first bloomed Sept. 15, 2001. Reproducible only vegetatively. Erect to 30 cm tall. Leaves maroon with green mottling, hairy, 12 cm long x 10 cm wide with 5 cm petiole, orbicular with serrate margin, acute tip and cordate base. Calyx green, split, 6 mm. Pedicel 5 cm. Corolla salverform, 4.5 cm long x 2.5 cm wide, pink tube, yellow lobes, edged with pink, yellow throat. Available from Pat’s Pets.
