Smithiantha ‘QJQ’s Melody’, 2019, IR191441 hybridized by Jia-Qi Qin, Mei-Lin Xiu, Qing-Si Bi, Shu-Cheng Feng, Shanghai, China. (S. ‘Spring’ x S. ‘Sunny Day’). Cross made 11.27.2016, seeds planted 01.12.2017, first flowered 11.08.2017. Fertile, reproducible only vegetatively. Erect habit, length of the stem 45-55cm. Leaves dark green, mottled with light green areas 10-13 cm long, 10-15 cm wide with 4-6cm petiole, orbicular with cordate base, crenate margin and acute tip. Calyx green, split, 5-6 mm, Pedicel 2.5-3cm, 42-46 flowers per leaf axil. Corolla ventricose, 4.5 cm long, 3.7 cm wide, dark pink with pale orange to pale yellow throat. This hybrid has a compact inflorescence tightly packed with an abundance of vivid dark pink blossoms. Prefers bright scattered light, moist but not too wet substrate. Temperature range is 10-37℃.
