Streptocarpus ‘Antique Rose’

Streptocarpus ‘Antique Rose’. 1999, IR99566, J. Ford, OH. [1987]. (141-A x ‘King’s Cloak’). Seed fertile, pollen sterile and reproducible only vegetatively. Rosette. Leaves hairy, dark green, 11.75 cm long x 7 cm wide, elliptic with crenate margin, acute tip and cuneate base. 1-2 flowers per peduncle. Corolla salverform, tube 4 cm long, limb 5.5 cm x 6 cm. Corolla top lobes pale pink, bottom lobes pink, nicely veined with wine rose markings, resembling a cattleya orchid. Flower quite large with ruffled edges, touch of double in center that does not keep flower from opening. Introd. 1995, Violet Creations cat.
