Streptocarpus ’Black Panther’. 1999, IR99573, J. Ford, OH. [1982]. (‘North Star’ x ‘North Star’ selfed). Fertile but reproducible only vegetatively. Rosette. Leaves bullate, dark green, 20 cm long x 7 cm wide, elliptic with crenate margin and acute tip. 4 flowers per peduncle. Corolla salverform, tube 3.5 cm long, limb 5 cm x 5.25 cm, dark purple velvet with light purple throat, two prominent yellow “fangs” in throat, lightly ruffled. First listing 1986, Tiki Nurs. cat.
