Streptocarpus ‘Engine Fire House’. 1999, IR99602, J. Ford, OH. [1989]. (‘Christmas Morning’ x 190-B). Fertile but reproducible only vegetatively. Rosette mature in 15 cm (6 in.) pot. Leaves hairy, dark green, 18 cm long x 6 cm wide, elliptic with crenate margin, acute tip and cuneate base. 3-4 flowers per 8 cm tall peduncle. Corolla salverform, tube 3 cm long, limb 5.5 cm x 5.5 cm, brilliant velvety red, white throat with red stripes. First commercial listing 1997, Tiki Nurs. cat. as ‘English Red’.
