Primulina ‘Sorbetto’

Primulina ‘Sorbetto’, 2020, IR201527 registered by Wu Jui-Jung, Wen Fang, Li Shu, Guangxi Institute of Botany, CAS & GCCC, Guilin, China. (P. medica seedling selection).  Pollination made 04.15.2015, seeds planted 03.17.2016, first flowering 04.07.2017. Reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem length 1-2 cm. Leaves green 13-20 cm long, 7-10 cm wide, 3-5 cm petiole, elliptic, with cuneate base, acute tip, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, green, 0.2-0.3 cm. Length of the pedicel 0.7 cm, 9-15 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 2 cm long x 0.8-1.2 cm wide, white with a yellow spot in the tube, pink spot on the base of abaxial lips inside.  Shade-tolerant but enjoys bright scattered light, prefers moist but well-drained substrate, will not bear temperature below freezing.
