Smithiantha ‘Golden Leopard’. 1999, IR99712, Dale Martens, TX, (S . zebrina hybrid x S. aurantiaca ). Cross made Nov. 1997, planted Mar. 1998 and first bloomed Dec. 1998. Fertile but reproducible only vegetatively. Upright rosette. Leaves green with red hairs, 8 cm long x 9.5 cm wide, orbicular with serrate margin and acute tip. 23 flowers per inflorescence. Corolla infundibuliform, tube 2.5 cm long, limb 1.5 cm wide, yellow orange (RRS 23A) with (RRS 32D) throat, orange dots (25A) on throat.
