Streptocarpus ‘Amethyst’. 1999, IR99565, J. Ford, OH. [1982]. (‘Ilsa’ x ‘Queen of Hearts’). Fertile but reproducible only vegetatively. Rosette. Leaves hairy, dark green, 16 cm long x 6 cm wide, elliptic with crenate margin, acute tip and cuneate base. 1-2 flowers per peduncle. Corolla salverform, tube 3.5 cm long, limb 4 cm x 4 cm, pale lavender with amethyst on three lower petals and amethyst veining on two top petals, resembling a cattleya orchid.
