Streptocarpus ‘Bluebird’

Streptocarpus ’Bluebird’. 1999, IR99575, J. Ford, OH. [1995]. (238-A x 244). Fertile but reproducible only vegetatively. Rosette. Leaves bullate, dark green, 31 cm long x 8 cm wide, elliptic with serrate to crenate margin and acute tip. 1-2 flowers per peduncle. Corolla salverform, tube 2.5 cm long, limb 5 cm x 5 cm, blue with 12 dark purple veins extending from throat onto bottom lobes, ruffled edges. First commercial listing 1997, Tiki Nurs. cat as ‘Blue Bird’, “Medium lavender-blue bloom with throat heavily striped deep purple.”
