Streptocarpus ‘Damson Wine’

Streptocarpus ‘Damson Wine’, 2014, IR141244, Simon Jones, Shropshire, UK. (Str. Black Panther x Str. Blue Leila). Cross made 18/4/12, planted 1/9/12 and first flowered 12/6/13. Fertile but reproducible only vegetatively. Rosette. Leaves dark rich green, 10in. long x 3.5 in. wide with 1.5 in. petiole, linear with entire margin, acute tip and cuneate base. Calyx brown/green, split, 0.5 in. long. Pedicel 0.5 in. long, 6 flowers per stem, 5 stems per axil. Corolla salverform, 2.5 in. long x 3 in. wide, Rich dark purple, velvet like texture. Dark purple veining prominent all over. White throat (upper section), lustered effect to the flowers.
