Streptocarpus ‘Rondul’s Bella’

Streptocarpus ‘Rondul’s Bella’, 2009, IR091100, Ron Clarke, UK. (S. Dibley’s ‘Carys’ x S.‘Frankens M21). Cross made May 2003, planted Oct. 2003 and first flowered June 2004. Fertile but reproducible only vegetatively. Medium rosette. Leaves Medium green, bullate, 30 cm long x 8 cm wide on average, petiole 2.5 cm long, linear with crenate margin, acute tip and cuneate base. Calyx split, green, 8 mm long. Pedicel 1-3 cm, 2 to 8 flowers per peduncle. Corolla salverform, 4 cm long x 4 cm wide, outer tube mauve with darker stripes, corolla burgundy darker centrally, inner tube violet with up to 9 almost black stripes in throat.  Plant makes full crown, staying in bloom for months.  Available from British Streptocarpus Society.
