Streptocarpus ‘Sophia’

Streptocarpus ‘Sophia’, 2009, IR091110, Annabell Thomas, UK. (parentage uknown). Cross planted Feb. 2005, flowered Mar. 2006. Fertile but reproducible only vegetatively. Compact rosette. Leaves dark green, 6 in. long x 2 ½ in. wide, oblong with crenate margin, acute tip and cuneate base. Calyx fused, green, ¼ in. long. Peduncle 6 in. long with 3-8 flowers. Corolla salverform, 1 ¼ in. long x 1 ¾ in. wide, white outer tube, face of corolla red-purple (RHS 57B) with slight veining and a narrow white edge. Grows as a small plant with very long flowering time. Available from British Streptocarpus Society.
